Sociology of theatre opens up questions about the social dimensions of the theatre and performing arts. The object of its research is theatre and its role within the society, the specificity of the historical forms and the question of culture in itself. The analyse is based on retrospection, objectivisation as well as the problematisation of theatre as artistic form while rethinking its role within the society and focusing on the interaction between theatre and society (economy, law etc.) Its methologocal tools will link to the contemporary theories of sociology as well as other humanities, comparative literature, critical theory, cultural studies, theatre studies.
